Bitcoin is all the rage these days. But what is it? Most people don't really know or understand much about the decentralized peer-to-peer cryptocurrency.
But those who do know what it is have heralded it as a revolution as important as that of the internet. Notable people who’ve had interesting things to say about it include
Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder, and Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google
“Bitcoin is a technological tour de force.”
- Fox News, May 6, 2013 and CNBC, April 23, 2013, respectively.
Paul Buchheit, Creator of Gmail
“Bitcoin may be the TCP/IP of money.”
- @PaulToo, Twitter, April 29, 2013
Tyler Winklevoss, of The Social Network drama fame, co-founder of Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust
“We have elected to put our money and faith in a mathematical framework that is free of politics and human error.”
- New York Times, April 11, 2013
Gavin Andresen, Chief Scientist, The Bitcoin Foundation
“You can basically put a bank in your pocket… That’s pretty amazing.”
If you want an easily understood, short introduction to this revolutionary technology, you’ve found the right book.
Bitcoin in Brief What, Why, and How is a 26-page non-technical primer that tells you what you need to know about Bitcoin to be able to discuss, understand, utilize, and explain it. I avoid discussing the complex cryptography and mathematics that allow it to operate, and instead focus on real-world examples that demonstrate the uses and impact of the technology. This eBook provides a brief explanation of Bitcoin that doesn’t leave anything you need to know out.
The currency of the internet is Bitcoin, and Bitcoin is the internet of property ownership. Do you want to be left behind?

Bitcoin in Brief eBook Ben Isgur Alec Stevenson Glenn Jones Reviews
I love this book. Great Read
This book has open up my eyes of what to come in the Future.
This is definitely a trend I will be following
A concept confusing to many put into laymans terms. A great read if you're looking for an overview of how Bitcoins work and how you can use them.
Chock full of information about Bitcoin. I would consider this book/essay necessary if anyone was looking to learn about Bitcoins! I honestly had no idea what Bitcoin was before buying this; I had actually heard it from a friend. Now I can keep up with conversations about this Internet currency.
Great explanation from an obvious future Nathan Myhrvold. Used links in his book to create a wallet at Coinbase. Can't wait to settle a restaurant tab at a restaurant with friends using bitcoin!
This definitely helped me understand the Bitcoin issue which is what I was after. Easy read.
For those of you who have heard to word "Bitcoin" floating around with no idea what it was about, this book teaches all the basics you need to know and gives you a few pointers on what to do with that knowledge. Its a quick and easy read that avoids too much technical jargon that could confuse beginners. Highly recommended.
Isgur's light read provides an interesting look into the history of Bitcoin, which given the plethora of info sites out there for providing some explanation on Bitcoin was appreciated, since I was interested on learning about the subject but had problems muddling through the info available on the web. Lots of sources cited in the book which can link you back to more reading if you want to delve further as well. All in all well worth the one buck if you're looking for a crash course in Cryptocurrency 101.
I knew nothing about Bitcion before reading this affordable e-book. Now I understand enough to speak intelligently on the topic. I will possibly take a stab at it myself. I wil recommend this e-book. Great place to start for a newbie.
